Who do we provide help to?
The facility’s assistance is available to people who have been referred or reported by social workers or other institutions, as well as people who report on their own. No referral is required and help is free.
The Crisis Intervention Center in Lublin also provides support in the form of shelter for residents of the city of Lublin. This form of help can be used by people and families who, as a result of traumatic events, find themselves in a crisis situation and require help. In particular, this applies to victims of fires, floods, natural disasters, domestic violence, human trafficking and other random events that prevent them from staying in their current place of residence. The stay is short-term and free of charge. People using shelter are provided with psychological and legal assistance, supporting their actions aimed at overcoming the crisis situation.
Specialists working at CIK
The team of employees of the Crisis Intervention Center includes:
– psychologists
– psychotherapists
– social workers
– lawyers (only for clients using psychological assistance at CIK)
You will receive advice and help from our employees if you cannot cope with the problem on your own when:
– you are in crisis,
– you live in constant stress or feel that you are alone with your problems,
– you experience violence or witness it,
– you are struggling with the addiction of a loved one,
– you feel that you are losing contact with your child,
– you are looking for support after the death of a loved one.
Interdisciplinary Team in Lublin
The Interdisciplinary Team implements activities specified in the Municipal Program for Counteracting Domestic Violence and Protection of Victims of Domestic Violence in Lublin.
The main responsibility of the Team is to integrate and coordinate the activities of entities involved in counteracting domestic violence.
Scope and forms of assistance at the Crisis Intervention Center in Lublin:
– specialist counseling (personal, telephone, online)
– short-term psychological and therapeutic assistance:
– individual,
– group,
– family.
Intervention assistance – community visits, intervention conversations in the event of reports of abuse against children, disabled people and the elderly.
Emergency help for people in sudden or traumatic crisis situations, i.e.: experiencing domestic violence, victims of accidents, crimes (assaults, rapes), experiencing the loss of loved ones.
Consulting and legal assistance in the field of drafting procedural and official documents, monitoring the course of cases together with the client (people who are not clients of CIK can apply for free legal assistance at free assistance points operating within the structures of the City Hall).
Building a natural support system in the family environment.
Educational and training activities in the field of organizing workshops and training, as well as organizing conferences and meetings of institutions providing assistance to people in crisis situations.
Help for people involved in situations of domestic violence.
For people experiencing violence:
individual help: psychological, therapeutic, legal, social work; participation in psychoeducational and therapeutic groups, ACA, in life-threatening situations – assistance in the form of shelter;
For people using violence:
individual psychological and therapeutic help, consultations with an addiction therapist; participation in correctional and educational programs.
