What is sexual violence?

Today we will lean into the topic of sexual violence.

So what is sexual violence?

Sexual violence is any activity that results in unwanted contact in the intimate sphere. Sexual violence includes forced sexual activity, harassment, rape, using sexual terms in conversation in a demeaning way; forced intercourse with sexual or pornographic content, and many others. When experiencing sexual violence, psychological support is needed. Sexual violence is usually a traumatic experience. A person experiencing sexual violence may experience lowered mood, guilt, sadness, shock, fear, depressive disorders, or even trauma. The most common victims of sexual violence are women, but it is also experienced by men, children or seniors.

No one has the right to force you to engage in sexual activity without your consent!
