What is mobbing?

Mobbing is actions or behaviors that involve persistent and prolonged psychological harassment. They are intended to humiliate, intimidate, isolate or eliminate an employee from the team. Mobbing causes fear, anxiety, confusion, guilt, and an underestimation of job suitability in the victim. Mobbing is the use of psychological and economic violence.
Therefore, if your workplace is experiencing:

-vindictive, malicious behavior aimed at humiliating a person

-abuse of power and position by superiors

-wrongful communication or obstruction of opportunities to communicate

-affecting social relations in the workplace

-deterioration of life situation and negative impact on employee’s health

-the person experiencing violence is unable to defend himself or herself, feels intimidated and harassed

How to prevent mobbing in the workplace?

-use assertive communication to put limits on the bully

-don’t let yourself be lulled into feeling guilty

-don’t give in to pressure

-don’t allow aggression

-communicate clearly that you do not agree with such behavior toward you

-seek support among employees

-turn to institutions that will help eliminate such phenomena in the workplace.
