What to avoid when suffering from depression?

  1. Do not ignore the problem – be sure to use professional help in the field of treating depression.
  2. Trust a specialist – starting therapy is a huge step in treating depression, but some stages of therapy may be more difficult, but do not give up! It is natural that sometimes regression must occur in order to start the process of working on yourself.
  3. If you are taking medication, take it regularly. Do not stop pharmacotherapy just because it did not bring results after a short time – it is a process.
  4. Do not sit on social media looking at photos of others, often taken just for show, which can make you feel worse.
  5. Avoid stimulants and unhealthy food – these are only temporary “mood boosters” that can make you feel even worse later.
  6. Don’t give up on taking care of yourself – even if you’re not meeting with others on a given day, take care of your own impeccable appearance.
  7. Don’t give up on helping others. Remember that YOU are needed by others.
