Volunteer.
Who is that? We all know the definition:
“a person who voluntarily, consciously, and without remuneration performs services for other people or organizations operating in various areas of social life. They are not employees, and their activities consist of devoting their time, energy, and skills for the common good, not for material gain.”
However, is that all?
For us, volunteering is primarily a matter of the heart. If we think about it more deeply, there is probably no volunteering without love. Only someone who loves people can truly selflessly give to those in need what is most precious to them—their attention, time, and commitment.
A volunteer expects nothing in return. They do not wait for anyone’s gratitude, because they know perfectly well that helping, especially in areas such as crisis intervention, is not always easy, both for the person in need and for the “helper” themselves, and the fruits of this help are not immediately visible.
Dear Volunteers, THANK YOU for your heart, for your willingness to help, for being with us.
