On December 7, 1987, the UN General Assembly established June 26 as the International Day for the Prevention of Drug Abuse, also known as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

According to the “Report on the State of Drug Addiction in Poland 2020” National Center for Counteracting Addictions, as much as 5.4% of the Polish population aged 15-64 use drugs, and the highest percentage of use is observed in adolescents and adults aged 15-34. “*

Appeal of the Lublin Superintendent of Education to summer vacation organizers: “Fentanyl is a completely new threat to public health. The substance is a highly addictive synthetic opioid for the treatment of intense pain, including in oncological cases. Police data show that from January 2022 to mid-April 2024, 252.2 grams of fentanyl and its derivatives were seized in Poland. Four deaths from fentanyl poisoning have been reported in Poland so far. Since the beginning of 2024 alone, the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has recorded 48 cases of poisoning with the dangerous drug.” Read more
