How long does it take to see a psychologist?

In urgent and emergency cases, a meeting with a psychologist can even take place on the same day.

 

We try to provide our clients with the shortest possible dates. As a rule, you do not have to wait longer than a week to see a psychologist.

What times do the meetings take place?

Visits to a psychologist can take place during the opening hours of the Crisis Intervention Center in Lublin – from Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (last visit is scheduled no later than 6 p.m.)

Remember that you can call 733 588 900 at any time – a 24-hour helpline for people in crisis.

How does CIK help people in the homelessness crisis?

CIK offers information support for people affected by the homelessness crisis.

If you are looking for help – contact us in person (Lublin, ul. Probostwo 6A) or by phone – 81 466 55 46.

The social worker will conduct an interview and direct you to institutions that help people in crisis of homelessness.

When can you use emergency shelter and when is it impossible?

Emergency shelter – for people affected by a crisis and needing help in a situation such as a fire, house collapse, or natural disaster.

The Emergency Shelter consists of three four-person rooms, one double room, two shared bathrooms and a shared kitchen. In total, the shelter has 14 permanent accommodation places. The rooms are designed as multi-person accommodation. The Crisis Intervention Center in Lublin provides free, 24-hour, periodic (up to three months) shelter to people living in the City of Lublin whose stay in their current place of residence threatens their life or mental or physical health due to the occurrence of a sudden crisis situation (including random events such as such as fire, gas explosion in an apartment, collapse) or experienced violence. As part of the assistance provided, the Shelter does not provide food, clothing, personal hygiene products or monetary benefits.

 

Admitting a person to the Shelter is not possible in situations where:

1) the health condition of the person applying for shelter indicates a possible threat to life or health or requires periodic or permanent specialist assistance, and the health condition prevents independent functioning;

2) the health condition of the person applying for shelter indicates the possibility of causing a threat to the safety of other residents or employees;

3) the Center’s employees have information substantiating the commission of an intentional crime by the person applying for shelter or information about his/her prosecution by authorized authorities;

4) there is a suspicion that the person applying for shelter uses domestic violence, especially when the services, law enforcement agencies and courts order such a person to leave the premises in connection with the use of domestic violence;

5) the person applying for shelter in the Apartment is under the influence of alcohol or under the influence of alcohol or is in a state indicating the use of psychoactive substances;

6) the person applying for shelter is in a homelessness crisis;

7) the person applying for shelter has been diagnosed with mental disorders or diseases;

8) admitting a person applying for shelter to an emergency shelter may threaten the functioning of the Apartment and PIK
