On October 11, 2025, on the Local Government Quarter Hour program, Ms. Anna Augustyniak, Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs, spoke about health, preventive healthcare, childhood without violence, and the activities of the Crisis Intervention Center in Lublin.
The demand for various health services changes over the years. That is why a team has been set up in our city to develop a health program for the City of Lublin for 2026-2030. An inaugural meeting has already taken place, and public consultations are currently underway. Every resident can contribute to the creation of this program, and suggestions can be sent by email to konsultacje@lublin.eu
The Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę (We Give Strength to Children) Foundation has launched a nationwide campaign called Childhood without Violence.
The campaign was launched on October 6 and will run until November 19.
“I encourage everyone to wear something red on the last day of the campaign. Red is a symbol of protest against violence in general, and above all against violence against children in various areas,” says Anna Augustyniak.
79% of children in Poland experience violence, including 32% from close adults. Children experience physical, psychological, peer, and domestic violence, as evidenced by, among other things, the increasing number of Blue Cards issued.
The Childhood Without Violence campaign aims, among other things, to sensitize the whole society to the issue of violence against children – to draw the attention of all communities to how to react and not to be afraid of reacting.
Because a child should not suffer. It cannot suffer.
The Crisis Intervention Center is also undertaking a number of activities as part of the campaign, including cooperation with schools, young people, teachers, and educators.
The CIK provides daily assistance in all areas related to violence, responding immediately and offering all services free of charge. As part of the campaign, we launched a major appeal for schools in Lublin to join the initiative, which resulted in cooperation with ten institutions where classes, talks, workshops, conferences, and meetings are held. Young people actively participate in these activities by writing slogans, composing poems, and talking about the behaviors they encounter on a daily basis.
The workshops are aimed at students, teachers, and educators alike.
People experiencing violence can always count on help at CIK – a roof over their heads, a conversation with a psychologist, calming their emotions together with professionals who will help determine how advanced the violence is and how to plan for the near future – also in cooperation with a lawyer from CIK. The entire range of assistance is free of charge.
Let’s not be afraid. Let’s react, let’s act. Let’s take the first step. All of us, as a society, should not be afraid and should react to disturbing cries “behind the wall” – someone’s health or life may depend on it.
